Our promise
What we will never do — for the people searching and for the businesses listed.
Are you a plastic surgery listing?
Your listing already exists — it was built from public records. Claim it free to correct your details, or get featured in your city for $149/month. No per-lead fees.
Common questions
Does a listing mean the surgeon is board-certified?
No. The specialty is what the provider chose when registering for an NPI. NPPES does not verify it. Check board certification with the American Board of Plastic Surgery.
How do I check a surgeon's license?
Use your state medical board's license lookup, or DocInfo from the Federation of State Medical Boards. Check that the license is active and whether the board has taken any action.
Is cosmetic surgery covered by insurance?
Generally not. Reconstructive surgery that is medically necessary may be covered, including breast reconstruction after mastectomy under federal law. Get written confirmation from your plan before you schedule.
Why are some listings organizations and some individuals?
NPPES has separate NPIs for individual clinicians and for organizations such as practices. A practice's listing may cover several surgeons at that location.
Do you take fees for referrals?
No. Practices can buy a flat-fee featured listing, labelled as such. We never charge per referral, patient or procedure.
